It is a common misconception that the song
was written and/or previously performed by Bob Marley, possibly based on the
fact that The Wailers were the backing band on Nash's original recording.
Marley wrote Nash's next single, "Stir It Up". Nash wrote this song
himself and recorded it in London with members of The Average White Band.
I Can See Clearly Now lyrics
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I
can see all obstacles in my way
Gone
are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s
gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
It’s
gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All
of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here
is the rainbow I’ve been prayin for
It’s
gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
Look all around, there’s nothin' but blue
skies
Look
straight ahead, nothin' but blue skies
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I
can see all obstacles in my way
Gone
are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s
gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
