A Merry Hunt

Wintertime / Calas Galadhon

Even though I was often at Calas Galadhon, I never publish a post about it.
Calas Galadhon is a 10 sims countryside. The landscape and the scenery have so many details. It's a great place to look around for a "mister details" as I.
It is also a great inspiration to shape and decorate our island.

A BRIEF HISTORY
"CALAS GALADHON …. known as simply ‘CALAS’ by most … is today a 11 region Park Estate created by Tymus Tenk & Truck Meredith ( our Second Life Avatar names).  Though the Estate is formally known as Lothlorian on the LL records, we chose to stick with CALAS GALADHON when the Lindens mistakenly called it that when first listed in SHOWCASE in December 2009. For all of the Lord of the Rings fans, yes, the sims and estate were named after places in JRR Tolkein’s work and yes, CALAS GALADHON was a common misspell of “CARAS GALADHON” but we chose to stick with that name as well … too difficult to change at that point."

Yordie Sands published several times about Calas Galadhon.
"I've been a supporter of Calas Galadhon from the moment I first visited. I've tried to encourage everyone I meet to make the visit. And I know that some of you readers got your introduction to Calas right here on my blog (I know this because you've told me so). But here's something you might not know about Calas, Tymus & Truck spend countless hours planning and working on these seasonal changes, imagineering the wonderful experiences we all enjoy. And they do it for all of us because they enjoy making people happy; pretty cool, no? I encourage you to come and play during this Christmastime."

I'm so glad that Yordie brought it to my attention that Calas Galadhon has a winter look.
So yesterday Tim and I brought a short visit. Soon more about Calas Galadhon.
Here a first impression.

National Costume Party

Sunday party in Sweetgrass.

In the invitation I got Sunday, Gany wrote:
"We all come from different Nations and parts of the world. We will celebrate all the different places we come from but in the end remember one important fact: We are all part of One world and working together a great world it will be.

The Gay Pirates

This water is too salty,
 For me to even drink.
I'd rather walk the dreaded plank
 Than stay another week.

But it's you my love
 You're my land ahoy

And I'm sick of being beaten
And whipped and lashed to death,
I want one night with no gang-rape
But I won't hold my breath.

But it's you my love
 You're my land ahoy
 Yeah, you're my boy

Yo-ho, Sebastian
 Let's go far away
Somewhere where the captain won't be mad.
 Yo-ho, Sebastian
I want to love you good
We deserve much better than we've had.

They say they're gonna kill me
If I look at you once more.
 Pissed in my hammock yesterday,
So I'll sleep on the floor

I'd be under the sea,
 but you hold me above.

They put glass on my sandals,
So my feet would bleed all day,
And they forced me to wear them,
Or they said they'd make you pay

I'd be under the sea,
 but you hold me above.
'Cos you're the man I love

Yo-ho, Sebastian
 Let's go far away
Somewhere where the captain won't be mad.
 Yo-ho, Sebastian
I want to love you good
We deserve much better than we've had.

The captain found out 'bout us,
 And ordered them to throw,
 Us both overboard tonight,
 Together we will go.

But I'm yours you know
And I'll love you still in hell

I hope they didn't tie up,
Your hands as tight as mine,
I'll see you on the bed of this
 Blue ocean babe, sometime

But I'm yours you know
And I'll love you still in hell
 Down we fell
 And i'm singing.

Yo-ho, Sebastian
 Let's go far away
Somewhere where the captain won't be mad.
 Yo-ho, Sebastian
I want to love you good
We deserve much better than we've had.

Yo-ho, Sebastian
 Let's go far away
Somewhere where the captain won't be mad.
 Yo-ho, Sebastian
I want to love you good
We deserve much better than we've had.

We deserve much better than we've had.

The Dramatiques Performance Troupe

My brother Myles (Myles Sperber) send me a invitation for a performance of the Dramatiques Performance Troupe.

Dramatiques Performance Troupe is a new group founded by dance enthusiasts who have come together to take performance to another level in Second Life!
We consist of a very strong team of creative artists.
Visit our info center for more info:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Morabeza/192/213/702
I not see my brother Myles very often. Mostly just at his weddings. So I went.
I had no idea what I was going to see.
I saw a wonderful made show with sound, music, lights, decors, dancers and dances.
Ooh yes, and I saw my brother in tights, for the first time.

Short after I left I got an IM from Mysty Mellison, asking me to have a look at her work.
Mysty is a writer in SL and is named after the myst that rolls off of the Rocky Mountains. The 1789 historical-drama, "The Fire," is her first production. She has her BA in French and first came to SL to explore the French sims.
If you LOVE Les Miserables, then you really will enjoy The Fire, a tale of murder, mystery, and mayhem!  Set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, The Fire is a drama reading about Pete, a passionate peasant verses a greedy government. He  struggles to earn bread during a Paris famine.  Join us on our journey as our magical storyteller, Pan, takes us through time to the year 1789.
I share with you here work on youtube

Weekends start.....

...at Open Minds. They had an Angel and Devil party. Bernard already did rebuild the club and I love the new dance floor. Later I went to.....
Satyricon. I think I never told what the name Satyricon means.
Satyricon (also known as Fellini Satyricon) is a 1969 Italian fantasy drama film written and directed by Federico Fellini. It is loosely based on Petronius's work, Satyricon, a series of bawdy and satirical episodes written during the reign of the emperor Nero and set in imperial Rome. Seven, the owner of club told me, is one of his favorite movies.
Plot Summary
In first century Rome, two student friends, Encolpio and Ascilto, argue about ownership of the boy Gitone, divide their belongings and split up. The boy, allowed to choose who he goes with, chooses Ascilto. Only a sudden earthquake saves Encolpio from suicide. We follow Encolpio through a series of adventures, where he is eventually reunited with Ascilto, and which culminates in them helping a man kidnap a hermaphrodite demi-god from a temple. The god dies, and as punishment Encolpio becomes impotent. We then follow them in search of a cure. The film is loosely based on the book Satyricon by Gaius Petronius Arbiter, the "Arbiter of Elegance" in the court of Nero. The book has only survived in fragments, and the film reflects this by being very fragmentary itself, even stopping in mid-sentence.

The Guitar Museum.

Last Saturday Tim and I went to a concert of Gins Allen.

It was the first time we been at the Guitar Museum.
In there group you can read:
Some of the world's most famous real life and Second Life® guitar players under one roof.
This museum is a collaborative project between three friends who like music in general, but guitar music particularly.

We stayed and did hear some great artists playing life music. As Spike Luckstone & Anja Halberstadt.
A video of Spike Luckstone & Anja Halberstadt at another SL location
Later, last weekend, I saw Larree Quixote.
Larree Quixote is the self-proclaimed 22nd century folk rock singing avatar from the future. Performing high energy, live acoustic music inworld, Larree Quixote's repertoire includes a wide variety of originals and covers, and he is always 100% live for your listening pleasure! (this is the groupnote that was send)
Video of Larree Quixote at The Pocket 11-11-2011
A funny guy and great guitar player.

In the museum part you can walk around and enjoy lots of information about the worlds most famous guitar players. There is a section with SL artists, mostly guitar players, and they play a lot of music from them on the land.
They not charge anything for entering the museum, it’s totally free.

The stage area where the live musicians play on a regular base is based on a famous stage in Amsterdam. I have been told that Bono one of the owners and also a great guitar player, build the stage.

First photo is the stage at SL. Now with snow, because of the holiday season.
The second is the real stage at Paradiso.
You can see the bear resemblance.

Paradiso is an iconic rock music venue and cultural center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
It is housed in a converted former church building that dates from the nineteenth century and that was used until 1965 as the meeting hall for a liberal Dutch religious group known as the "Vrije Gemeente" (Free Congregation). It is located on de Weteringschans, bordering the Leidseplein, one of the nightlife and tourism centers of the city. The main concert hall in the former church interior has high ceilings and two balcony rings overlooking the stage area, with three large illuminated church windows above the stage. The acoustics are rather echoey, but improvements have been made over the years. In addition to the main concert hall, there are two smaller cafe stages, on an upper floor and in the basement.

Paradiso was squatted by hippies in 1967 who wanted to convert the church to a entertainment and leisure club. The police ended the festivities the same year. In 1968 the city opened Paradiso as a publicly-subsidized youth entertainment center. Along with the nearby Melkweg (Milky Way), it soon became synonymous with the hippie counterculture and the rock music of that era. It was one of the first locations in which the use and sale of soft drugs was tolerated. From the mid-1970s, Paradiso became increasingly associated with punk and new wave music, although it continued to program a wide variety of artists. Starting in the late 1980s, raves and themed dance parties became frequent.

In recent years, the venue has settled into an eclectic range of programming, which, besides rock, can include lectures, plays, classical music, and crossover artists. Long associated with clouds of tobacco and hashish smoke, Paradiso banned smoking in the public areas in 2008 in accordance with a nationwide ban on smoking in public venues, and the venue has a 'smoking room' near the entrance, but still inside Paradiso itself.

Artists who have recorded or filmed concerts at the Paradiso include The Rolling Stones, Joy Division, Chic, Joe Jackson, Chris Isaak, Kaizers Orchestra, Willie Nelson, Phish, Arcade Fire, Nightwish, Bad Brains, Kayak, Loudness, Nirvana, John Cale, The Cure, Soft Machine, Emilíana Torrini, Jalebee Cartel, Link Wray, Lenny Kravitz, Omar & the Howlers, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Electrosexual, Beth Hart, Dayna Kurtz, Dave Matthews, Smoosh, Suzanne Vega, Amy Winehouse, Fiction Plane, Epica, Editors, Motorpsycho, Pain of Salvation, Riverside, Live and NITS and Jamiroquai.

Glen Matlock played his last gig with The Sex Pistols at the Paradiso.

On May 26–27, 1995, The Rolling Stones played two semi-acoustic concerts at the Paradiso. Scalped tickets reportedly sold for many thousands of dollars. Recorded tracks from these concerts were released on the Stones' Stripped album later that year. Keith Richards said that the Paradiso concerts were the best live shows the Stones ever did.

The post-grunge act Live recorded the live video album Live at the Paradiso – Amsterdam at the Paradiso.

Other acts who played in Paradiso include Nine Inch Nails, Arctic Monkeys, Europe, Radiohead, Stereophonics, Prince, UB40, Guns N' Roses, David Bowie, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Police, The Velvet Underground, Rollins Band, Golden Earring, Herman Brood, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dr. John, Muse, Rory Gallagher, Foo Fighters, Fugazi, U2, Pearl Jam, Ramones, Metallica, Faithless, Pink Floyd, Primus, Tool, The Pretty Things, Captain Beefheart, The Jam, Coldplay, Billy Idol, Keane, Robbie Williams, Emilíana Torrini ,Eels ,"Weird Al" Yankovic, Lady Gaga and My Morning Jacket.

Fruit & Vegetable Party in Sweetgrass

I think it was 2 weeks ago when Ganymede asked me if I could manage the party on Sunday November 20th. I said yes. I did try to get somebody that was not before DJ at Sweets. I asked the DJs I know but in such a short time they could not change there schedule. Gladly Tim offer himself to do the job. I was allowed to change the theme and I came with the idea to do a Fruit & Vegetable Party.
Short before the party I did a last inspection.
Even before noon, already the first guests arrived.
Tim played a great set en it seemed people enjoyed themselves.

Almost at the end of the party a cat named Marka Mirri took over the DJ Booth.

Gany did offer some fruit to Ellbee.
