Pink Party & Concert

Pink Party
Saturday we had our second party after the Grand Opening. Yes the theme was Pink and yes it was my idea. I have a closet full of pink clothes. But it seems that I am not the only one that wears pink. Even my brother Matt found some in his inventory.
We decided that we will have ever Saturday a party from 12:00 (noon) to 02:00 pm SLT. Today is World AIDS day and next Saturday the theme will be Gay Pride.

After the party I had a long talk with Bernard. He is the owner and DJ of the Open Mind Dance Club. Its still premature but maybe we will do something’s together. For example, with advertising. I hope that I can tell soon, more about what the Saturday themes at T.R.A.C.S will be the rest of the year.

Concert
Sunday we went to a live concert and listened to the nice voice and songs of Gins Allen.

Here (In Your Arms)

Hellogoodbye (styled as hellogoodbye) is a power pop band that was formed in Huntington Beach, California in 2001 by singer Forrest Kline. "Here (In Your Arms)" is the lead single from Hellogoodbye's first full length album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!(2006).
"Here (In Your Arms)"
I like,
Where we are,
When we drive,
In your car.
I like,
Where we are,
Here.

Cause our lips,
Can touch.
And our cheeks,
Can brush.
Our lips can touch,
Here.

Where you are the one, the one,
That lies close to me.
Whispers, "Hello,
I've missed you quite terribly."
I fell in love, in love,
With you suddenly.
Now there's no place else,
I could be, but,
Here in your arms.

I like,
Where you sleep,
When you sleep,
Next to me.
I like,
Where you sleep,
Here.

Our lips,
Can touch.
And our cheeks,
Can brush.
Cause our lips can touch,
Here.

Where you are the one, the one,
That lies close to me.
Whispers, "Hello,
I've missed you quite terribly."
I fell in love, in love,
With you suddenly.
Now there's no place else,
I could be, but,
Here in your arms.

Our lips can touch.
Our lips can touch,
Here.

You are the one, the one,
That lies close to me.
Whispers, "Hello,
I've missed you quite terribly."
I fell in love, in love,
With you suddenly.
Now there's no place else,
I could be, but,
Here in your...

You are the one, the one,
That lies close to me.
Whispers, "Hello,
I've missed you quite, miss you quite..."
I fell in love, in love,
With you suddenly.
Now theres no place else,
I could be, but,
Here in your arms.

Here in your arms.
Oh, here in your... arms.

I love this song and to be politically incorrect, this is a chick band.
Most guys don't like hellogoodbye.
So here is a parody of Chris Moyles - Beer In My Arms

Article, Shops and Ice

After a few sad posts, today a happy one.
Happy music (Vanilla Ice with Ice Ice Baby (this time no lyrics) and some happy news.
On 14 November the article, written by Kim Trefusis, was published in The Secondlife newspaper. (under Community). Kim did a wonderful job in how he describes the island.

http://sl-newspaper-pnn.blogspot.com/

Also sins last weekend there are two new shops on Timothy street.
Twins and Josef. Both sell clothes for male, but both in another style.
And Tiger Island has for this season a ice-skating ring.
Rickie did a great job.
Rod and I could not wait to try it and the ice is realy great.
Look how my "ice" baby glides over the ice.

Poems of Finesse

It must a day of poems. After all the reading about Anne Sexton, I been thinking of Finesse and that I never post this poem that Odric send me some time ago. I Post it with the note card he send with it.

Dear Friends of Finesse Nolan,
Maybe I missed it or there was no Memorial for Finesse. So I want to take this chance to get in contact to you.
I have tried to buy Finesses Land - direct from Linden. I wanted to keep as it Finesse left - but it is against their (LL) regulations - they claim the land, clear it and sell the land via auction.
Finesses Land is sold now and the new owner rezzed buildings. Nothing reminds the old owner - It was hard for me to see - but I guess that’s life....
I shared with Finesse one important thing: We exchanged our writings, poems and stories.
So I want to send you a story Finesse wrote in Dec. 08
She did not give me the permission to share it with someone else - but I guess in this situation she wouldn't mind as its not a personal story. I hope you like and enjoy reading this!
Thank you for reading
With love,
Odric
At Night in the Woods by Finesse Nolan

The woods are quiet tonight, but listen:
There are whispers wandering through the darkness,
liquid night music drifting through branches,
rippling softly through the darkness to pool here and there …
would you drown in those shadow shallows
if you dared venture there?

A breeze dances briefly, fingering leaves,
causing them to rustle,
shivering and trembling like virgins
fearing its touch yet welcoming it.
Or perhaps they welcome the playful touches
And the susurrus is a greeting… or applause?

The small stream gurgles and burbles to itself
whispering little stories of where it has been,
what it has tasted in its travels.
A small vortex forms opening a swirling mouth,
and with a sly little chuckle, it gulps down a floating leaf,
and hurries on to other places far from this wooded place.

Night animals, eyes large with the need to see,
move in the darkness, rustling through the leaf carpet
creeping and crawling, sliding and gliding, prowling
each after the manner of its kind seeking sustenance.
Their small sounds in the ambient air of the cool darkness
meld and merge, each playing its own musical part
in the quiet symphony of the woods at night.

The Starry Night

Anne Sexton wrote this poem after viewing the famous van Gogh painting.

The Starry Night
by Anne Sexton

The town does not exist
except where one black-haired tree slips
up like a drowned woman into the hot sky.
The town is silent. The night boils with eleven stars.
Oh starry starry night! This is how
I want to die.
It moves. They are all alive.
Even the moon bulges in its orange irons
to push children, like a god, from its eye.
The old unseen serpent swallows up the stars.
Oh starry starry night! This is how
I want to die:
into that rushing beast of the night,
sucked up by that great dragon, to split
from my life with no flag,
no belly,
no cry.

That does not keep me from having a terrible need of—shall I say the word—religion. Then I go out at night to paint the stars.
Vincent Van Gogh in a letter to his brother

Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)

Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winter chills,
In colors on the snowy linen land.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

Starry, starry night.
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze,
Swirling clouds in violet haze,
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue.
Colors changing hue, morning field of amber grain,
Weathered faces lined in pain,
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.

Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they'll listen now.

For they could not love you,
But still your love was true.
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night,
You took your life, as lovers often do.
But I could have told you, Vincent,
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you.

Starry, starry night.
Portraits hung in empty halls,
Frameless head on nameless walls,
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget.
Like the strangers that you've met,
The ragged men in the ragged clothes,
The silver thorn of bloody rose,
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.

Now I think I know what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they're not listening still.
Perhaps they never will...

Starry, starry night.

"Vincent" is a song by Don McLean written as a tribute to Vincent van Gogh. It is also known by its opening line, "Starry Starry Night", a reference to van Gogh's painting The Starry Night. The song also describes different paintings done by the artist.McLean wrote the lyrics in 1971 after reading a book about the life of the artist. The following year, the song became the number one hit in the U.K. and No.12 in the U.S.

Mercy Street

"Mercy Street"
I've never understood what this song was about, but the simple, crisp musicality of it has always riveted me whenever I hear it. Yesterday I read more about it and that the title came from Anne Sexton's 1969 play 45 Mercy Street. She was also working on a poem with the same title at the time of her death.

Anne Sexton (November 9, 1928, Newton, Massachusetts–October 4, 1974, Weston, Massachusetts) was an influential American poet and writer known for her highly personal, confessional poetry. She won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1967. Themes of her poetry include her long battle with depression.. She wrote as a form of therapy.

Biographers place great emphasis on Sexton's psychiatric treatment, which was significant as evidenced by the content of her poetry. And, it is possible, given her non conformism, that Sexton suffered from a borderline personality disorder. There are reports of her schizophrenic language, for instance, as well as her tendency to enter some sort of trance at the end of her psychiatric treatment sessions. She apparently did not want to end the sessions, perhaps because of emotional and social needs.

Following one of many suicide attempts and breakdowns she worked with therapist Dr. Orne. He diagnosed her with what is now described as bipolar disorder, but his competence to do so is called into question by his early use of allegedly unsound psychotherapeutic techniques. During sessions with Sexton he used hypnosis and sodium pentothal to recover supposedly repressed memories. During this process he allegedly used suggestion to implant false memories of childhood sexual abuse. This abuse was refuted in interviews with her mother and other relatives. However during the writing of Sexton's biography, Sexton's daughter, Linda Gray Sexton confirmed to the book's author that she had been sexually assaulted by her mother.

Sexton made 5 suicide attempts, the 5th being successful. She died of carbon monoxide poisoning in 1974. Google if you want to know more about her.

There is a poem she wrote called "Rowing" which seemed to explain the lines at the end where Gabriel talks about "Ann in her little boat". "I am rowing, though the wind pushes me back and I know that that island will not be perfect, it will have the flaws of life, the absurdities of the dinner table, but there will be a door and I will open it and I will get rid of the rat inside me, the gnawing pestilential rat. God will take it with his two hands and embrace it."
"Mercy Street"
for Anne Sexton

looking down on empty streets, all she can see
are the dreams all made solid
are the dreams all made real

all of the buildings, all of those cars
were once just a dream
in somebody's head

she pictures the broken glass, she pictures the steam
she pictures a soul
with no leak at the seam

lets take the boat out
wait until darkness
let's take the boat out
wait until darkness comes

nowhere in the corridors of pale green and grey
nowhere in the suburbs
in the cold light of day

there in the midst of it so alive and alone
words support like bone

dreaming of mercy street.
wear your inside out
dreaming of mercy
in your daddy's arms again
dreaming of mercy street.
'swear they moved that sign
dreaming of mercy
in your daddy's arms

pulling out the papers from the drawers that slide smooth
tugging at the darkness, word upon word

confessing all the secret things in the warm velvet box
to the priest-he's the doctor
he can handle the shocks

dreaming of the tenderness-the tremble in the hips
of kissing Mary's lips

dreaming of mercy street.
wear your insides out
dreaming of mercy
in your daddy's arms again
dreaming of mercy street.
'swear they moved that sign
looking for mercy
in your daddy's arms

mercy, mercy, looking for mercy
mercy, mercy, looking for mercy

Anne, with her father is out in the boat
riding the water
riding the waves on the sea

Another Update

Again sometime time is past but finally I got some pictures of the Halloween party at T.R.A.C.S. Again I forgot to make some snapshots but thankfully Sulie did.

Sulie sells hand carved solid teak panels in a shop at Thimothy Street.
You can even buy the originals. Or as he says on his shield in the shop:
Works of art in both worlds, but much more affordable here in sl.
Sulie Criss
Halloween oktober 31rd 2009
The party started and Sulie, as queen of hearts and Curtis, as pumpkin, where the first guests.
Later more guest came and here are a few other shots.
Wedding of Galen and Wylde november 1st 2009

You're my first, the last, my everything

To day I saw that the FC/husband, Mintar Quan, of my brother Mathieu Ansar, also loves lyrics as I, Must be that he is dutch to.
You're like a first morning dew on a brand new day.

You're my first, the last, my everything
(spoken)
We got it together didn't we
We've definitely got our thing together, don't we baby?
Isn't that nice?
I mean really when you really sit and think about it
isn't it really really nice?
I can easily feel myself sliping in more and more ways
in a simple world of my own
Nobody but you ... and me
We got it together babe

My first, my last, my everything.
And the answer to all my dreams.
You're my sun, my moon, my guiding star.
My kind of wonderful, that's what you are

I know there's only, only one like you.
There's no way, they could have made two
You're all I'm living for,
Your love I'll keep for evermore,
You're the first, you're the last, my everything.

And with you I've found so many things
A love so new only you could bring
Can't you see if you,
You'll make me feel this way.
You're like a first morning dew on a brand new day.

I see so many ways that I can love you,
Till the day I die.
You're my reality, yet I'm lost in a dream.
You're the first, the last, my everything

*** Instrumental ***

I know there's only, only one like you.
There's no way they could have made two.
Girl you're my reality
But I'm lost in a dream
You're the first, you're the last, my everything

Lady Ga Ga

When dancing at Tiger Island there seems to be always a moment they play the song Poker face from Lady GaGa. One time I did hear somebody saying that he thought she was singing "poke her face" instead of "poker face". So now I always sing "poke her face" when I hear the song. I found a nice parody of the song. Its a story so it takes some time before the song starts, so be patient and watch it til the end.

A Last Song for Today

Harry's Theme song my Clannad
Clonmacnoise

Theme From Harry's Game
Language
Irish Gaelic

Background
This is the theme song to the three part TV thriller of the same name. "Harry's Game" reached the top five of the British charts, a feat made even more impressive when one considers that the song is in Gaelic. "Harry's Game" was also nominated for a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award, and recieved the Ivor Novello award, England's equivalent of the Grammy.

Lyrics
Imtheochaidh soir is siar
A dtainig ariamh
An ghealach is an ghrian

Fol lol the doh fol the day
Fol the day fol the day

Imtheochaidh an ghealach's an ghrian
An Daoine og is a chail 'na dhiadh

Fol lol the doh fol the day
Fol the day fol the day

Fol lol the doh fol the day
Fol the day fol the day

Imtheochaidh a dtainig ariamh
an duine og is a chail ne dhiadh

Fol lol the doh fol the day
Fol the day fol the day

Translation
I will go east and go west
[To the places] from whence came
The moon and the sun

The moon and the sun will go
And the young man
With his reputation behind him

I will go wherever he came from -
The young man with his reputation behind him

Second Life

Its so much fun to learn ................
Detachable Penis
I woke up this morning with a bad hangover
And my penis was missing again.
This happens all the time.
It's detachable.

This comes in handy a lot of the time.
I can leave it home, when I think it's gonna get me in trouble,
or I can rent it out, when I don't need it.
But now and then I go to a party, get drunk,
and the next morning I can't for the life of me
remember what I did with it.
First I looked around my apartment, and I couldn't find it.
So I called up the place where the party was,
they hadn't seen it either.
I asked them to check the medicine cabinet
'cause for some reason I leave it there sometimes
But not this time.
So I told them if it pops up to let me know.
I called a few people who were at the party,
but they were no help either.
I was starting to get desperate.
I really don't like being without my penis for too long.
It makes me feel like less of a man,
and I really hate having to sit down every time I take a leak.
After a few hours of searching the house,
and calling everyone I could think of,
I was starting to get very depressed,
so I went to the Kiev, and ate breakfast.
Then, as I walked down Second Avenue towards St. Mark's Place,
where all those people sell used books and other junk on the street,
I saw my penis lying on a blanket
next to a broken toaster oven.
Some guy was selling it.
I had to buy it off him.
He wanted twenty-two bucks, but I talked him down to seventeen.
I took it home, washed it off,
and put it back on. I was happy again. Complete.
People sometimes tell me I should get it permanently attached,
but I don't know.
Even though sometimes it's a pain in the ass,

I like having a detachable penis.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now.

After I did having my playlist back, I listen to some songs on the You Tube and found this nice version of "Both Sides, Now". It is a song by Joni Mitchell. Her recording first appeared on the album Clouds, released in 1969. It was written in March 1967, inspired by a passage in Henderson the Rain King by Saul Bellow.
It was also a minor hit in the UK and Canada for the Irish band Clannad in a duet with British singer Paul Young, recorded for the motion picture Switch. It was the only chart appearance for Clannad in the Canadian RPM 100 Singles Chart

BOTH SIDES NOW

Bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air
and feather canyons everywhere, I've looked at cloud that way.
But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things I would have done but clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
from up and down, and still somehow
it's cloud illusions I recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

Moons and Junes and ferris wheels, the dizzy dancing way you feel
When every fairy tale comes real; I've looked at love that way.
But now it's just another show. You leave 'em laughing when you go
and if you care, don't let them know, don't give yourself away.

I've looked at love from both sides now,
from give and take, and still somehow
it's love's illusions I recall.
I really don't know love at all.

Tears and fears and feeling proud to say "I love you" right out loud,
dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way.
But now old friends are acting strange, they shake their heads, they say
I've changed.
But Something's lost but something's gained in living every day.

I've looked at life from both sides now,
from win and lose, and still somehow
it's life's illusions I recall.
I really don't know life at all.

I've looked at life from both sides now,
from up and down, and still somehow
it's life's illusions I recall.
I really don't know life at all.

My endless loves

Finaly I got a new player and I can hear my playlist again. Also did some updating. I hope all works wel.
My loves, there's only them in my life
The only thing that's bright

My Loves

My love,
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's bright

My first love,
You're every breath that I take
You're every step I make

And I
(I-I-I-I-I)
I want to share
All my love with you
No one else will do...

And your eyes
Your eyes, your eyes
They tell me how much you care
Ooh yes, you will always be
My endless love

Two hearts,
Two hearts that beat as one
Our lives have just begun

Forever
(Ohhhhhh)
I'll hold you close in my arms
I can't resist your charms

And love
Oh, love
I'll be a fool
For you,
I'm sure
You know I don't mind
Oh, you know I don't mind

'Cause you,
You mean the world to me
Oh
I know
I know
I've found in you
My endless love

Oooh-woow
Boom, boom
Boom, boom, boom, boom, booom
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom

Oooh, and love
Oh, love
I'll be that fool
For you,
I'm sure
You know I don't mind
Oh you know-
I don't mind

And, YES
You'll be the only one
'Cause NO one can deny
This love I have inside
And I'll give it all to you
My love
My love, my love
My endless love
