Live concert with DEE TIMELESS and Rock Party with DJ RACKER

Yesterday at T.R.A.C.S
Dee Timeless did start the event at Noon
After Dee's performance, DJ Racker played his Rock set.

Great party it was. Dee sung some great songs and accompanies herself on the guitar. And she is amazing on the guitar and she can be so funny to. WOW.
After Dee's performance came DJ Racker with his tunes of rock songs. We kept the amount of people the whole event and Racker is for sure the reason. With cross-fading between songs he showed that he is a great DJ. It was late when he played the last track.

Here some pictures I made during the event.

"Lotus Flower" is a song by the English alternative rock band Radiohead. It was released in 2011 on their eighth studio album The King of Limbs. The song was first played live with lead singer Thom Yorke's band Atoms for Peace, albeit very different from the version on the album. Musically, the song has less focus on its rhythm section than on the first half of the album, while lyrically, it is about "the magic of losing yourself in music and the senses".

Music video
A music video was released on 18 February 2011 and features black-and-white footage of Yorke dancing while singing the song. It was directed by Hammer & Tongs member Garth Jennings and choreographed by Wayne McGregor. The video was originally uploaded on the band's official YouTube channel on February 16, 2011. The video led to the tag #thomdance to become a trending topic on Twitter. It also sparked an internet meme named "Dancing Thom Yorke" where people replaced the audio of the "Lotus Flower" video with other songs, or dubbed different voices on the video. The video received a nomination for Best Short Form Music Video at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

The video received positive reviews from critics. IndieWire wrote that director Jennings was able to turn Yorke's "spastic" dancing into art. The website described the concept as "simple" and genius", and said the video was "bizarrely compelling [...] with Yorke's flailing, curiously spellbinding limbs as the main attraction." The British newspaper Metro held a "music video fight club" where they judged the music videos for "Lotus Flower" and "Hold It Against Me" by Britney Spears to see which one was better.

They praised the dancing of Yorke, saying "somehow, even though he seems to be mass of tangled limbs in the grip of an attack of some sort, it works." The newspaper, however, criticized the visuals of the video, describing the empty room as "sparse to say the least". They declared "Lotus Flower" the winner of the "music video fight club", two points to one point.
Lotus Flower lyrics

I will shape myself into your pocket
Invisible
Do what you want
Do what you want

I will shrink and I will disappear
I will slip into the groove and cut me off
And cut me off

There's an empty space inside my heart
Where the weeds take root
And now I'll set you free
I'll set you free

There's an empty space inside my heart
Where the weeds take root
So now I'll set you free
I'll set you free

Slowly we unfurl
As lotus flowers
'Cause all I want is the moon upon a stick
Just to see what if
Just to see what is
I can't kick your habit
Just to fill your fast ballooning head
Listen to your heart

We will shrink and we'll be quiet as mice
And while the cat is away
Do what we want
Do what we want

There's an empty space inside my heart
Where the weeds take root
So now I'll set you free
I'll set you free

'Cause all I want is the moon upon a stick
Just to see what if
Just to see what is
The bird lights float into my room

Slowly we unfurl
As lotus flowers
'Cause all I want is the moon upon a stick
I dance around the pit
The darkness is beneath
I can't kick your habit
Just to feed your fast ballooning head
Listen to your heart

Yesterday Tim and I went to The GSpot LIVE Pier to hear Dee singing and playing.
The GSpot is a combination of two live performance venues.
GSpot Live opened its doors in March 2012 and brings performances by some of the finest live talent in second life. Musicians performing original music as well as remarkable cover songs for a wide variety of genres will be on the stage to entertain at least once a week.
The GSpot claims that it has the reputation for being one of Second Life's most friendly clubs and I have to admit that it is true.
Dee did sing some great songs and one was "Driver 8" that is the second single from R.E.M.'s third album, Fables of the Reconstruction. Released in September 1985.

Listen to Dee's excellent guitar work and a great voice...
Driver 8 acoustic cover by Dee Timeless

The walls are built up stone by stone
The fields divided one by one.
And the train conductor says
"Take a break Driver 8 Driver 8 take a break
We've been on this shift too long"

And the train conductor says
"Take a break Driver 8 Driver 8 take a break
We can reach our destination but we're still a ways away"

I saw a tree house on the outskirts of the farm.
The power lines have floaters so the airplanes won't get snagged.
Bells are ringing through the town again,
Children look up, all they hear is sky-blue, bells ringing

And the train conductor says
"Take a break Driver 8, Driver 8 take a break
We can reach our destination, but we're still a ways away"

Way to shield the hated heat.
Way to put myself to sleep.
Way to shield the hated heat.
Way to put myself, my children to sleep.

He piloted this song in a plane like that one.
She is selling faith on the Go Tell crusade.
Locomotive 8, Southern Crescent, hear the bells ring again.
Field to weed is lookin' thin

And the train conductor says
"Take a break Driver 8, Driver 8 take a break
We've been on this shift too long."
And the train conductor says
"Take a break Driver 8, Driver 8 take a break
We can reach our destination, but we're still a ways away"

Dee Timeless

SECOND LIFE:
Dee has been playing in SL as a solo acoustic guitar artist since June, 2010. She has played dozens of clubs and venues - always invited back. She has a moderate but hardcore following members in her group "Dee's Meepers!".
As opposed to many who simply strum, Dee is a well-seasoned musician who strives to be a whole band on one instrument, using a variety of styles to promote a strong-driving musical presence accompanied by a high-caliber unique vocal presence. People who hear her perform are impressed with the level of musicianship, and many are thrilled to hear great songs done right that they haven't heard in ages. She does a lot of songs that are extremely challenging, many of which will not be heard elsewhere on SL.

Material covered is a broad variety, brilliantly arranged for acoustic. It ranges from 60's through modern - mostly mainstream but adding in a few obscure selections. Dee tackles some rather complex arrangments like Classical Gas, and Steve Howe. A sample of artists covered includes Beatles, ELP, Radiohead, Fuel, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, SRV. Dee also has clever original songs - with many more on the way.

REAL LIFE:
I've played guitar and been in bands for 30 years, and made a living playing music in RL for about 9 years. I play bass, guitar, some keyboard, and drums, and sing. I was heavily influenced by Rush, Yes, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and so many others! I'm also a sound engineer and have done a good bit of recording. I am transgendered in RL, and so it should not come as a surprise that I have a female avatar, yet a singing voice which sounds mostly masculine.

What Else is There by Royksopp, performed acoustically by Dee
at a gig on Second Life, December 21, 2011.

What Else Is There? lyrics

It was me on that road
But you couldn't see me
Too many lights out, but nowhere near here

It was me on that road
Still you couldn't see me
 And the flashlights and explosions

Road's end getting nearer
We cover distance but not together
I am the storm, and I am the wonder
And the flashlights, nightmares, sudden explosions

I don't know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish

It's about you and the sun
A morning run
The story of my maker
What I have and what I ache for

I've got a golden ear
I cut and I spear
And what else is there?
Road's end getting nearer
We cover distance still not together

If I am the storm, if I am the wonder
Will I have flashlights, nightmares, sudden explosions?

I don't know what more to ask for
I was giving just one wish

Road's end getting nearer
We cover distance but not together
I am the storm and I am the wonder
And the flashlights, nightmares, sudden explosions

There is no room where I can go and
You've got secrets too

I don't know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish

"What Else Is There?" is the third single from the Norwegian duo Röyksopp's second album The Understanding. It features the vocals of Karin Dreijer Andersson from the electronica duo The Knife. The album was released in the UK with the help of Astralwerks.

The single was used in an O2 television advertisement in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia during 2008. It was also used in the 2006 film Cashback and the 2007 film, Meet Bill. Trentemøller's remix of "What Else is There" was featured in an episode of the popular HBO TV show Entourage.

The Muppet Show Party @ T.R.A.C.S

I will not blame Tim that he came with the idea to do a Muppet Show Party. Because it is my job to check if there is enough items to find in World and on Marketplace. But thinking that we would be filled by Kermits was an underestimation of the creativity of our guest. DJ Beef and his host Lexzia made some cutout masks and Racker and Truposz even changed there gender. Beef, more a rock fan than the disco he played, had made a nice set. Gay is sure a Muppet Show fan because he had the most right answer with the Trivia.

 ▲ Lexzia
 ▲ DJ Beef
▲ DJ Beef and in the back Aita and Gay
▲ Tim as himself. Oops.... I meant as Cookie monster
