Today I was reading Jenna's blogs and think: "Woo, she just does it".
Some times I have that weird thing that songs pop up in mind and this one just came up.
"Step by Step" is a song written and originally recorded by singer Annie Lennox, later popularized by R&B/Pop singer Whitney Houston. The song served as the second single from Houston's 1996 soundtrack album, The Preacher's Wife. Lennox's recording originally appeared as the B-side to her 1992 single Precious.
Whitney Houston Houston's version replaces Lennox's verses with new lyrics. Even the opening lyrics were totally different. Despite the fact that both songs are slightly different, they both seem to bring forth a message of encouragement.
Annie Lennox did background vocals on Whitney's version. I didn't know this until recently. You can hear her clearly if you listen closely.
Annie's & Whitney's version are so different and each lady does it brilliantly.
I am a fan of both, as you know when you reading my blog and the lyrics and songs that I pick. So I post both lyrics and Whitney's version as background and Annie's as You Tube at the end of this post.
