Amsterdam Gay Pride 2011

Gay Pride Amsterdam is one of the best and
most fun prides in the world.
This year the main Amsterdam Gay Pride week
was be from 1 till 7 August 2011,
with all major events taking place from 5 - 7 August.




On Friday 6th August 2010, the Drag Queen Olympics was held at the Homomonument.
This year, the Drag Queen Olympics included a 100m high heel sprint, a handbag throwing contest and the limbo. 

The 16th edition of the Gay Canal Parade was Saturday visited busier than last year.
That have spokespersons of the municipality of Amsterdam and the police reported. 
Last year pulled the boats parade for gays in accordance with the 
Organization, ProGay 380,000 visitors and this year were the significantly more, 
though there is no visitors record broken.
The Pink Parade, consisting of 80 boats, was opened by Lieutenant Dan Choi. The American lost his job in the U.S. Army when he came out of the closet. He then became the face of the gay rights movement. Choi was Saturday guest of honour at the boat of the Ministry of defence. It was the first time that a ship with uniformed soldiers participated in the Canal Parade.
