Parties. An update

After we had to leave Christo Island because our landlady, it does not bear thinking about, had trouble or she made, with Linden Lab. So we cleaned the sim and left. We spend sometime on some parcels we rent and we, Tim Rod and I, talked about if we would get us a new sim. It was good to talk and discuss and for me to cool down. After a few weeks I did start building again and Tim and Rod did start breeding horses. More about that in a future post. What would be best was the question. Have our own sim or rent again. Both have a risk. Dad (Echo Douglas) would even invest if we would have our own sim. "I love you dad". Finally we decide that we would rent again.
In the mean time Fabulous Pub did start there parties on Saturday at 21:00 CET. I became furious because, I have been told that Jamy, owner of the Fabulous Pub, was send to me to discuss it with us. But we never got an IM. My ice bucket, where I stick my head in to cool off and protect me not to get banned, was empty and at an Open Minds Party I let the devil out. That made Bernard angry and made the drama complete. Okay, to make a long story short, Jamy and I became friends and he have his party on Saturday on 23:00 CET now. How in the future things will go, we will see.

On April 30th we made a start, on our new sim, with the parties. Because the Club was not rebuild, we did start at the basement and pool of our house.
The second party was at the front and beach.
The third at the yacht harbor. Lubos Hawker, a new friend, made the picture and send it to me.

Party number four was at the front of the new club. I not have any pictures of that party.
Tim always makes the text for the promos and he wrote for this:
Saturday May 21st NOON SLT (9PM CET) to Timothy Square on River Island
for a good old village fair party with DJ Mayor Tim rocking the town. As always 1000L on board for best outfit... whatever you think fits for a village fair. ;-)

Than we been back at the new club. we also made a start with guest DJs and Jeff was the first.

Our last party was the Fiesta Mexicana party.

After our party I went to Fabulous for a clown's party and, wow, I won.

Last but not least some pictures of the Sunday Party in Sweet Grass.

The picture of the winners is made by Gany.

That was all about my hot head, T.R.A.C.S. and the parties.
Jenna made a new promo for the regular DJs. You doing a great job, sis.

“Into the West”

 “Into the West” (Annie Lennox)
  Hope fades
  Into the world of night
  Through shadows falling
  Out of memory and time

Yesterday Tim and I went to a concert of Gins Allen. The Cake Stage, where Gins held his performance, is one of the stages for the SL8B. One of the songs he sung was "Into the West" did give me the shivers.

About SL8B
This year’s theme is “The Magic of Second Life.” No, we’re not just talking about wizards and sorceresses (though of course they’re included). The true magic of Second Life is something different for each of us. It’s all about that moment when we realized how amazing Second Life really is. It’s when we found our own personal connections to Second Life, realizing its potential in our own lives and the lives of other Residents. Whether it’s the social aspect, the content creation possibilities, or unique business and commerce opportunities, we’ve all got a tale of Second Life magic to share.

About the song
“Lay down your sweet and weary head; night is falling, you have come to journey’s end”: the first words of this song, written in 2003 by Annie Lennox with Fran Walsh and Howard Shore for Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings third chapter (The Return of the King), set a dreamy and wistful mood in which a woman comforts her loved one, promising him they will be together again after his parting: “Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see all of your fears will pass away; safe in my arms, you’re only sleeping”.

And while moonlight softly lights the sea in silver, sorrow slowly replaces with peace: “And all will turn to silver glass; a light on the water, grey ships pass into the West”.

“Into the West”, interpreted as an Elvish lament, was inspired by the demise of Cameron Duncan, a young film maker who was going to make a cameo in the film.

The song was conceived as a bittersweet Elvish lament sung by Galadriel* for those who have sailed across the Sundering Sea. Several phrases from the song are taken from the last chapter of The Return of the King.
* Caladriel is Legolas' younger sister

In the commentaries and documentaries accompanying the extended DVD edition of the film, director Peter Jackson explains that the song was partially inspired by the premature death from cancer of young New Zealand filmmaker Cameron Duncan (born in New Zealand on April 20, 1986 and passed away on November 12, 2003 at the age of 17), whose work had impressed Jackson and his team. The first public performance of the song was at Duncan's funeral.

And last but obviously not least, Annie won her (at now) first Oscar for Best Original Song at the 76th Academy Awards.
Into the West

Lay down
your sweet and weary head
Night has fallen
you have come to journey's end
Sleep now
and dream of the ones who came before
They are calling
from across a distant shore

Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
all of your fears will pass away,
safe in my arms
you're only sleeping.

What can you see
on the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
a pale moon rises -
The ships have come to carry you home.

And all will turn
to silver glass
A light on the water
All souls pass

Hope fades
into the world of night
through shadows falling
out of memory and time
Don't say
We have come now to the end
White shores are calling
you and I will meet again.

And you'll be here in my arms
Just sleeping

What can can you see
on the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
a pale moon rises -
The ships have come to carry you home.

And all will turn
to silver glass
A light on the water
Grey ships pass
Into the west

Party and People

Yesterday evening was a great evening with several events and all kind of music.
Tim and I went first to the party at Open Minds. Sorry, I not made pictures. (I sure have to start to do that again.) Jamy was the DJ. It seems that he had to substitute because he had to leave earlier for a photo shoot. Bernard took over and
it was great that he played the Coldplay song
"Every tear is a waterfall".

During the party I got a tp from Ricky Flow. We were at his concert at FabulousSoul Pub.Read Ricky's story at Cale Alcott's blog
Ricky did not lie when he said: "Zerbie singing live! Awesome live Singer. Come if you can :-)"
Wow, what a great artist she is.
