A beach is a landform along the coast of an ocean, sea, lake, or river. Winter is the coldest season of the year in polar climates and temperate climates, between autumn and spring. Winter is caused by the axis of the Earth in that hemisphere being oriented away from the Sun. Different cultures define different dates as the start of winter, and some use a definition based on weather. When it is winter in the Northern Hemisphere it is summer in the Southern Hemisphere, and vice versa. In many regions, winter is associated with snow and freezing temperatures. The moment of winter solstice is when the sun's elevation with respect to the North (or South) Pole is at its most negative value (that is, the sun is at its farthest below the horizon as measured from the pole). The earliest sunset and latest sunrise dates outside the polar regions differ from the date of the winter solstice, however, and these depend on latitude, due to the variation in the solar day throughout the year caused by the Earth's elliptical orbit (see earliest and latest sunrise and sunset).

The word winter comes from an old Germanic word that means "time of water" and refers to the rain and snow - as well as low temperatures - of the season in middle and high latitudes. Winter Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) in Indian River County, Florida,

. The population was 965 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Sebastian–Vero Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Geography

Winter Beach is located at 27°43′N 80°25′W (27.714,-80.424).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.9 square miles (18 km2), of which, 6.9 square miles (18 km2) of it is land and 0.14% is water.

History

Winter Beach was originally established as the town of Woodley, in the late 1890s. In 1902, the community's name was changed to Quay, in honor of Senator Matthew S. Quay of Pennsylvania. Senator Quay had introduced a Senate bill to widen and deepen the Intercoastal Waterway which the community thought would be of benefit. Senator Quay was a winter resident of St. Lucie Village, just north of Fort Pierce, where his old home still stands. In 1922 the name of the community was changed, for promotional purposes to Winter Beach, "Where the Sunshine Spends the Winter." In 1925, Indian River County was established, and Winter Beach almost became the county seat, however the then town of Vero (now Vero Beach) was an incorporated city, and was selected as the county seat. Portions of Winter Beach were still enumerated as Quay in the 1940 Census.

Climate

The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Winter Beach has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.

Pets Party in Sweetgrass

Ganymede made the pictures and he noted:

A funny Sunday we had in Sweetgrass! A disco full of lovely animals. Some were very tiny and cute, and others very huge and even too fat. Afterwards it took a long while to clean the disco, but it was worth it. Meow! DJ Deepert did a beautiful animal set. The contest is won by Elrohin, Christo, Gay, Joeh and Sephiroth, congrats boys!

Stay With Me

Some songs give me goose bumps and this is one of them.

"Stay with Me" is a song by British singer-songwriter Sam Smith from his debut studio album In the Lonely Hour (2014). It was released in the United Kingdom as a digital download on 18 May 2014. The song was written by Smith and Jimmy Napier. "Stay with Me" is a pop ballad that details the protagonist pleading with his one-night stand not to leave him.

The song has become Smith's most successful single to date, peaking at number one in the United Kingdom, becoming his third chart-topper there (second as a solo artist), as well as in Canada and New Zealand. In the United States, it peaked at number two for two weeks on Billboard 's Hot 100 chart becoming his first top ten hit in the country. It has also reached Top 10 status in over twelve countries worldwide, becoming his most successful single to date.

Samuel Frederick "Sam" Smith (born 19 May 1992) is an English singer-songwriter. He rose to fame in October 2012 when he was featured on Disclosure's breakthrough single "Latch", which peaked at number 11 on the UK Singles Chart. His subsequent feature—on Naughty Boy's "La La La"—earned him his first number 1 single in May 2013.

In May 2014, Smith revealed to the public that he is gay.

In an interview with Fader, the 22-year-old breakout singer reveals that despite writing songs about love, he's never experienced it himself.

"I've never been in a relationship before," Smith admits. "I've only been in unrequited relationships where people haven't loved me back. I guess I'm a little bit attracted to that in a bad way. [My debut album] In the Lonely Hour is about a guy that I fell in love with last year, and he didn't love me back. I think I'm over it now, but I was in a very dark place. I kept feeling lonely in the fact that I hadn't felt love before. I've felt the bad things. And what's a more powerful emotion: pain or happiness?"
